So I went to bed and tried to fall back asleep, well it forever for me to fall back asleep and when I finally did fall back to sleep, it felt like instantly I heard a baby crying and I thought it was my nephew. I was a bit dazed and was thinking that doesn't sound like a Noah cry. And it stopped for a bit and I thought ok they are back to sleep well just as I am about to fall back to sleep they start crying again only louder. I was like oh boy I don't want to deal with a sad tired baby. So I get up and I watch to his room and the crying gets quieter as I get closer. I put my ear to the door and I hear nothing. I open the door just a bit and silence. I was greatly confused, so I went back to bed and sure enough I could hear crying again. Ugh it must be the neighbor's child crying and it was extremely loud in that bed room. So I try to fall asleep while I hear the crying, not an easy task. Lets just say I didn't fall asleep. So sometime around 2:30 I think I hear the people next door getting their child and then it went quiet. And I fell asleep.
The next thing I know my phone is going off and Jason had called me. It was about 5:45. He was saying how he wouldn't be able to make it to the apartment and back to the hospital, so I needed to get Noah ready and take him to my grandparents house and so I proceeded to get everything ready. And then I went to grab Noah out of bed and he was completely covered by his blanket and only his feet were sticking out. So I grab him and then go set him on the couch and he was very out of it. And just sat there blinky. Then on the car ride he was just the same way and when we had almost got to my grandparents he finally started to wake up and he started laughing at me as I was driving, or he could have been laughing at something out the window. It was very funny and confusing at the same time.
So I dropped him off and headed back to my apartment to do a few last things before I went to my 9 hour shift. I knew I was going to be late but not terribly. So I just went as fast as I could and sent my supervisor an email when I did get to work and he said it was alright. Then around 9:30am I get a text with this picture with the text saying Elijah ricks 7 lbs 1 oz 19 in long. jenny & eli both doing well. The picture was actually taken at 7:47am he was born at 7:35. So then I just continued to work all day long and got off just a little early thanks to my coworker coming in early for me. Then I went and took a nap. And I slept till 6. It was a very long nap. Then I had dinner then headed out to the hospital to actually get to see the newborn.
As I got to the hospital I got to see Jason and Noah leaving, they both looked very tired. Then I proceeded onward to the room and there was my sister and the baby. The baby was asleep and my sister was eating dinner. And I got to hold the new baby. He was bundled so tiny that he looked very tiny but his arms and legs were just both folded tightly into his blanket. I picked him up and off came his hat and oh my he has dark hair!
